In March, over 550 underprivileged fathers and family members gathered for a heartwarming Ramadan event, Sedulang Bersama Ayah – an annual tradition that highlights the significance of breaking fast together. The events, which are held at Beo Crescent, Hougang Community Club and Darul Ghufran Mosque, are organised by Centre for Fathering and Bapa Sepanjang Hayat.

Sedulang Bersama Ayah provides fathers and their children with the opportunity to break fast as a family, strengthening bonds and celebrating unity. This meaningful gathering serves as a reminder of the importance of family, togetherness, and community in Islam. It underscores the role of fathers in nurturing emotional connections, imparting values, and creating cherished memories.
“Breaking fast together during Ramadan is more than just a meal – it is an important tradition that fosters a sense of unity and togetherness within families. Fathers play a crucial role in making this experience meaningful for their children,” said Mr Eruandee Prayitna, Head of
Development and Outreach, Centre for Fathering.
He added, “For underprivileged families, it holds even greater significance. With many facing financial and emotional challenges, the opportunity to come together and share in the joy of iftar becomes a moment of solace and connection, transcending the difficulties they face. It’s
not just about sharing a meal; it’s about fostering hope, strengthening family bonds, and creating lasting memories that uplift and inspire.”
