Minister Edwin Tong Becomes Patron of Centre for Fathering

Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, has accepted Centre for Fathering (CFF)’s invitation to be its patron effective 30 January 2024. “I am deeply honoured to accept the invitation to become the patron of the Centre for Fathering.

“Through my involvement in various roles in the community, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact of engaged and supportive families, and the CFF has played an important role in supporting dads and mums on their lifelong journey with their children,” said Mr Tong.

He added, “Together, I hope that we will work towards a future where every child grows up in an environment filled with love, guidance, and opportunities. And a Singapore where strong families are the cornerstone of our success and happiness, and where the CFF continues to support by nurturing our society’s most precious asset – our families.”

Mr Keith Magnus, chairman, CFF said, “We are honoured and delighted that Minister Tong has accepted our invitation to become patron. As a dedicated and loving father to three daughters who are now young adults, Minister Tong strongly believes that a father’s role is irreplaceable in the lives of their children. He is himself a role model father to his daughters. We look forward to working closely with our new patron to turn the hearts of fathers and
children towards each other in this nation.”

Mr Tong is CFF’s fourth patron since its establishment in 2000. Former patrons include Mr Chan Soo Sen, former Minister of State for Community Development and Sports, Education, and Trade and Industry; Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade and Industry; and former Speaker of Parliament, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin.
