Creating An Intimate Bond With Your Child

Relationship studies have found that the more you know about someone, the more intimate you would feel with that person. And the level of intimacy is maintained and deepened as more relevant personal information is exchanged. The parent-child relationship can grow in intimacy through the exchange of personal information and this module will give parents creative and practical ways to do so.

Spanking and time-outs were effective methods parents of bygone days used to correct the bad behaviour of their children. With the benefit of behavioural science, we now know that we can discipline our children without using punishment. These methods build up our children and foster a better parent-child relationship.

Children whose parents are emotion coaches have fewer emotional and behavior problems, including problems with anger, anxiety, and acting out (Hurrell et al 2017; Short et al 2010; Gottman et al 1996).
