Through this workshop we hope to share our vast experience and knowledge of the sentiments, mindsets, and aspirations of fathers with those who are engaged with families. We also want to equip you with the understanding of the core functions of an Effective Father so that you will be able to share them in your engagements with fathers.
Parents with adolescent children (10 and above) can attend the ICAN Parenting Teens Workshop. This workshop will help parents see adolescence as an age of opportunity rather than a stage to be endured.
When two people get married and have children of their own, one of the things that they will realise is how different their parenting styles are. This can lead to many perpetual and painful arguments between them. To resolve the stalemate, some parents have resorted to the ‘Good Cop, Bad Cop” method, where one of them will be the strict disciplinarian while the other is the soft nurturer. Bad idea!
We have a better way.
A 5-hour workshop for fathers in all life stages. Learn how important fathers are to their child, how to make every engagement with your child Quality Time, how to be an Authoritative Parent and how to build your child’s emotional intelligence.
Based on the book by Dr. John Gottman “Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Child” the workshop aims to help parents connect with their kids/teens and resolve conflicts without escalating their own emotions. Parents will learn skills to respond to child’s negative emotions (i.e. scared, sad, angry), use emotions for bonding and teachable moments, regulate emotions and set clear, consistent limits in problem-solving.
This 1-day programme provides a platform for fathers to bond with their pre-teens (9 – 14 years old) through adventure-learning. Not only will you get the chance to do something adventurous with them, it’s also a wonderful way to get talking with them at a deeper level.
The father-child relationship is a significant factor in the emotional and cognitive development of a child. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This workshop will have the father and child prepare and eat breakfast together.
Coaching for Fathers is a service that empowers fathers to engage fully, effectively, and responsibly in their children’s lives. We will work on your building relationships with your children that are healthy, nurturing and ongoing. Ultimately, we hope to help dads acquire the skills necessary to move from mediocrity to extraordinary in their role as fathers.
Apart from the programmes and workshops, we are also able to conduct talks on a range of topics related to marriage, family, and fathering. They are 1 hour in duration (45-minute presentation with a 15-minute Q&A) and are suitable for events or lunchtime talks.
