27 August 2020

Dear Friends,

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation in Singapore and around the world, we are rescheduling our 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner from 6 November 2020 to 5 March 2021, as we want to protect the interests and safety of our guests. We thank you for your understanding and your continued support of our active Fathering cause in Singapore.

We are grateful that the Guest-of Honour, President Halimah Yacob, our Patron, Speaker of Parliament Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan have agreed to attend on the new date and support DADs for Life and the Centre for Fathering.

My colleagues and I have been working on the event and I’m pleased to let you know that an evening of good food and music is in store. The dinner menu will feature the creations of Head Chef Aitor Jeronimo Orive of Michelin-starred Basque Kitchen by Aitor. There will also be a performance by the acclaimed T’ang Quartet.

As Singapore bands together to ride out this challenging season of COVID-19 pandemic, the Centre for Fathering remains fully committed to providing unwavering support towards helping fathers become meaningfully engaged with their family at home and whilst on the frontline.

With many fathers working at home now, it is indeed an opportune time for fathers to bond with their families. While our on-site programmes and fathers group meetings have halted, this has not stopped us from reaching fathers through online workshops and Fathering resource kits. Many father groups also continue to press on and meet online!

In light of the COVID-19 situation in Singapore, the Celebrating Fathers movement in June this year took place entirely online – featuring a campaign to appreciate Dads for everything they are doing for their families and our community, especially how they engage their children and help them thrive in this challenging season.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We do hope that you’ll be able to join us on 5 March 2021. My colleagues will be following up with you individually to confirm your attendance and dietary preferences. Should you require further clarification, please feel free to contact my colleague, Ms Cheryl Lee, at cheryllee@fathers.com.sg.

On behalf of the Board, our organizing committee and all our staff, may you and your loved ones stay well and healthy this season.

Warmest Regards,

Bryan Tan
